Deputies trying to ID necklace thief

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Clay County deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who stole a necklace worth nearly $4,000.

Deputies said the theft happened May 22 at the Italian Jewelry kiosk in the Orange Park Mall on Wells Road.

They said the manager let the man try to the necklace on, and then the man ran without paying for it. Deputies said the manager did his best to chase the thief down, but wasn't able to catch him.

The thief is described as a black man, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, and was wearing black pants, an orange shirt, black shoes and a black hat.
