Deputies: Wanted, armed, dangerous man headed to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man wanted in connection with a double homicide in Ohio may be heading to or already in the Jacksonville area, Ohio deputies warned Monday.

Robert Roy Clark, 29, is wanted in connection with the homicides of Doyle and Lillian Chumney and is considered armed and dangerous, deputies said.

According to Coshocton County Sheriff's Office Detective Tom Couts, sometime late Jan. 20 to early in the morning on Jan. 21, two men, including Clark, went to the Chumneys' home in Strasburg, Ohio, tied up the elderly couple, robbed their house and drove them in their own car to Coshocton County in Ohio. Couts said Clark was an acquaintance of the couple and they invited him into their home.

The couple was killed and their car was found burned up in Coshocton County, Couts said.

Clark is believed to be driving a green 2003 Dodge Caravan minivan with an Ohio license plate, either GBM4977 or GIT6870 (stolen).

Clark is believed to be armed with an AR-15 rifle and a sawed-off shotgun and was last seen committing an armed robbery with the shotgun in Donalsonville, Georgia, according to deputies.

"We're actually tracking this guy by the robberies he's committing. Sadly, that puts us behind him, and we'd like to get in front of him," Couts said. So that's why we're trying to notify everybody. ... We don't know where this guy is going, but he is an obvious killer to us and we're afraid he may do it again, and we don't want anyone to get hurt."

Clark is described as a white man with brown hair and brown eyes, 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 350 pounds.

Deputies said intelligence they've received suggests Clark might be headed to or already in the Jacksonville area. He also might have associates in Manatee County near Tampa. He is believed to be traveling with companions: Jeffrey P. Caley Jr., 28, and Tabatha Marie Hazel, 26 (pictured).

Caley is described as a white man with brown hair and brown eyes, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighing 137 pounds. He also suspected in an aggravated robbery in West Virginia, according to deputies.

Hazel is described as a white woman with brown hair and blue eyes, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighing 159 pounds.

Caley and Hazel may also be armed and dangerous, deputies said.

News4Jax Crime Analyst Gil Smith said Ohio police will be working with police locally to track Clark. Smith also said-- if you see him get away.

"Don't contact him, don't stare at him, don't pick up your cell phone and try to call while he's there because he may be trying to find out who's watching him. He's a very dangerous person."

Anyone who spots Clark or his companions should call 911 or local authorities as soon as possible, deputies said. They can also report any information to Couts at 740-622-2411.
