The driver of a Dodge Durango was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after he crashed his car on Blair Road.
Officers arrived at the scene around 10 p.m. to Blair Road in reference to a single car crash with fatalities, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses told police the man was driving recklessly southbound on Blair Road.
The driver drove off the right shoulder, overcorrected crossing onto the other shoulder and eventually flipped his Durango.
Police said his Durango came to a rest after it busted through a subdivision's barrier wall.
The driver was taken to the hospital with what police said was initially thought to be life-threatening injuries, but his condition was later downgraded to serious and not life-threatening.
Blair Road was shut down in both directions for a couple of hours, according to JSO.
