Driver sought in Southside bus crash

Three students on the bus uninjured during hit-and-run crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver is being sought after, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said, that driver caused a crash involving a school bus Thursday afternoon.

According to an FHP report, around 3:45 p.m. an unknown beige or silver Toyota was attempting to make a left turn from a northbound lane of University Boulevard onto Spring Park Road, when it cut off a school bus traveling southbound on University Boulevard.

Troopers said the school bus, driven by 25-year-oldl Jessica Baker, had a green light through the intersection when it struck the back of the Toyota.

There were three students on the bus at the time: two 14-year-olds and a 4-year-old and no one was injured as a result of the crash.

Troopers said the Toyota did not stop a the scene and continued traveling east on Spring Park Road.

The bus's video camera captured the traffic crash, but troopers said the tag number of the Toyota was not viewable.

A search was made around the area of the crash, but the Toyota was not located.
