A 32-year-old Palm Coast man was arrested Wednesday morning after investigators with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office and SWAT team served a search warrant in a narcotics investigation.
The warrant at the home on Pine Grove Drive was obtained following an investigation into suspected illegal narcotics activity there.
SWAT team members moved in quickly and made entry into the home, deputies said. They said investigators escorted three people outside, a middle-aged woman and two young children, while they detained the parents of the children inside the home.
Investigators said they found crack cocaine, cannabis and various prescription medications in unlabeled prescription bottles inside a bedroom in the home.
"It is disturbing to me that these children were living in this home and may have been exposed to the dangers often associated with illegal narcotics use and possession," said Sheriff James L. Manfre. "Our investigators have contacted the Department of Children and Families and advised them of the situation, and we have asked them to conduct an investigation to ensure that the children are safe."
Investigators arrested John Johnson, the father of the children, and charged him with possession of crack cocaine, possession of prescription pills, possession of cannabis -- less than 20 grams -- and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Johnson was taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility, where he was initially held and later released upon posting $11,000 bond.
