JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County schools saw an all-time high graduation rate increase for the 2012-13 school year, according to statistics from Columbia-Princeton.
There were 304 additional graduates this past year, bring the graduation rate to 72.1 percent, up 4.4 percent from the year before.

The three high schools with the biggest gains were Lee, Ed White, and Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology.
According to the statistics, the largest gains came among African-American students.
College readiness rates were up as well. According to the statistics, 80 percent of students were college ready in reading, while 60 percent were college ready in math.
Duval County Superintendent Nikolai Vitti promised to exceed the state average next year.
