An officer met with the manager, who said an employee, Amanda Jennings, had stolen more than $1,200 from the register shortly after 4 p.m., police said.

Security video from within the business showed Jennings standing behind a counter where she was working. Police said she was then seen opening the register, removing more than $1,200 from the drawer and concealing the bills in her bra.

Jennings then fled the business. Police said the café was left unattended for an hour before a customer noticed no one was working inside and called the manager.

Officers attempted to find Jennings, but were unable to locate her. Police said a warrant affidavit was filed on Jennings for grand theft.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Lake City Police Department at 386-752-4343 or anonymously on the tips line at 386-719-2068.
