JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The state has rested its case in the murder trial of Michael Dunn, who's accused of killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis in an argument over loud music.
A legal expert said Dunn should testify in his murder trial so jurors might understand why he fired 10 bullets at the SUV Davis was riding in.
Dunn is charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder after the death of Davis. Police said it started as a dispute over loud music at a gas station in November 2012.

Several key witnesses testified on Saturday, including Michael Dunn's fiancee, Rhonda Rouer. After her lengthy testimony, many are wondering who the state could call to the stand Monday.

Rhonda Peoples-Waters is an attorney not affiliated with this case. She said a key witness left for the state to call is the medical examiner.
Channel 4 heard from an assistant forensic examiner on Saturday, but Peoples-Waters said the M.E. will be able to emphasize that Jordan Davis suffered several gunshot wounds, which she said will be critical to the state's case.
Peoples-Waters believes even Ron Davis, Jordan's father, could take the stand. She believes it would most likely hurt Dunn if he didn't testify, adding that he's the only person who can explain to the jurors and make them relate to what he felt the night of Nov. 23, 2012.
"Absolutely, because there is no other witness who has been able to lay that foundation as to why he would have had that fear of imminent death or bodily harm coming against him," Peoples-Waters said.
She expects the defense to start their case sometime this week and said family members of Dunn will most likely be their key witnesses. She said family members can make the jury relate more to Dunn.
The biggest witness for the defense will be Dunn, if he takes the stand.
