Fancy Pants party held at Players

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sporting some of the wildest gear ever seen, golf fans celebrated The Players and raised money for a charity Saturday.

The band Yacht Rock out of Atlanta got people grooving at the event, The Fancy Pants Party, which also featured a silent auction and food.

All of the proceeds were given to Blessings in a Backpack, which feeds kids in the free and reduced lunch program in 10 schools in St. Johns and Duval Counties.

"On the weekends these kids don't have food, so this party raises money to make sure that they don't go hungry on Saturday and Sunday," said Channel 4's Nikki Kimbleton, who helped organize the event along with a lot of volunteers.

"To be a mom and to know that I couldn't feed my kids on the weekend, it terrifies me," said Heather Schieferle Preysz, with Blessings in a Backpack.

Loudmouth Golf helps sponsor the event and the CEO sets out to find the person with the craziest golf pants.

"We saw some fantastic (pants) out on the course today, but of course, inside here, everybody is wearing some great outfits, and at Loudmouth we love people wearing color and it looks great here," said Larry Jackson, with Loudmouth Golf.

"We knew that Saturday at The Players was crazy pants day and what a better way than let people walk from the course to the party with their crazy pants, so we thought it would be a fun theme to go with," Kimbleton said.
