The parade will weave 1.7 miles through the community.

The Naval Air Station Jacksonville Color Guard will lead nearly 40 active and retired military personnel as they march in this year's event. A fire truck and Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police car will head the parade.

Fairways Forest originally started holding their 4th of July parade in 1975 when control of the community was passed to the association by the construction company after all the homes had been built. This is the 13th year that the Fairways Forest Homeowners Association has hosted the annual event with military personnel marching as part of the community's efforts to recognize our country's independence and the service of our military men and women who have and continue to keep our country free.

The parade also includes cars, as well as families with bicycles dressed out in red, white, and blue and concludes on Hoover Lane with a community picnic.
