PALATKA, Fla. – Two Putnam County teens were critically injured Tuesday night when the car they were in crashed on a roadway that was under construction, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Christian Goins, 16, and Gavin Goins, 15, were flown to UF Health Gainesville with life-threatening injuries.

The FHP report said Christian was driving at a high rate of speed on County Road 309C, which was closed for construction, when the two-door car hit a large dirt mound covering a drainage culvert across the roadway. The car was launched into the air and flipped several times.
Both teens were ejected. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
