FHP: Armed drug trafficker runs from traffic stop

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 32-year-old Jacksonville man is facing drug trafficking charges after he ran from a January traffic stop, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to troopers, Joshua Artez Bentley was stopped while driving a 2000 Buick LaSabre when he was pulled over Jan. 24 but ran off on foot.

Troopers called in a K-9 unit to track Bentley, and he was caught.

Investigators said they found a loaded Taurus .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun, 2.4 ounces of powder cocaine and 27 grams of crack cocaine at the scene

Bentley was charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of drug equipment, resisting arrest, burglary and possession of a firearm arrested

He was booked into the Duval County Jail.
