FHP: Two hit-and-run crashes in Middleburg

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A white truck was involved in two hit-and-run crashes just after 10 p.m. in Middleburg on Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers haven't released many details but said one happened at the intersection of County Road 218 and Blanding Boulevard.

Witnesses said a white truck side-swiped another truck near a red light, then kept on going. Moments later, the truck crashed into a van with two women and a girl inside.

"(It) just blasted into us," said Jillian Zizza, who was riding in the van. "I've been in a lot accidents. That was hard. … After he hit us he kept on going."

The driver of the van is in the hospital but family members said she is OK.

It's also unclear if police are still looking for the driver involved in both accidents.
