JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a fire that broke out at the Wild Wing Cafe on Southside Boulevard.
The fire was reported just after 5 a.m. Monday morning. Flames were shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived. Around 5:40 a.m., crews managed to get the bulk of the fire under control. According to Twitter, firefighters set up a ladder for an aerial defensive attack.

Tom Francis, with JFRD says crews did a phenomenal job of getting the fire under control.
"The crews did a good job as you can see for yourself. The building is still standing and intact. And as result, coupling that particular information and the fact that we have no injuries to report, this unequivocally was a successful operation today," said Francis.
He adds that medical tents were also set up for the team. "We need to have the crews all properly, if you will, physically capable of doing the job which means monitoring their core body temperatures and so on. That is why the rehab units are out there," said Francis.
He believes a driver may have first reported the fire; "We got a call from 911. I don't know if it was a motorist, but if you consider the location of where we are, the prominent location near Southside Blvd., I would think it was safe to assume it was a motorist."
Wild Wing Cafe opens at 11 a.m. There has not been any reports if this will change Monday morning because of the fire. No injuries were reported in the fire.
The State Fire Marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire.
