A stolen van rammed into a Westside pawn shop early Monday morning, sparking a fire, according to the State Fire Marshal.
Investigators were dispatched to the Cash Today Pawn on Jammes Road near 103rd Street around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
The State Fire Marshal told the shop owner that a Kid's World day care van rammed the back door, sparking the fire. It's believed this was an attempted burglary.
The State Fire Marshal said the burglar(s) first tried to enter the pawn shop through the roof. No arrests were made Monday morning.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire near the back door of the building in less than an hour.
Police remained on the scene after the fire was out to ensure no one entered the pawn shop.
The manager of Cash Today Pawn said there was minimal damage to tools and rims in the rear of the store.
An employee at Kid's World day care says when she arrived to work Monday morning, the van was gone and there was glass in its parking spot.
Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
