1 dies in apartment explosion

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 22-year-old St. Augustine man died in an explosion and fire at a two-story apartment building on Thursday afternoon.

St. Augustine firefighters were called to the blaze at 20 First Street just before 3 p.m.

Firefighters said heavy flames were showing when they arrived. They said the fire was put out in about five minutes.

Then they found Corbin Farris' body in the home. The Medical Examiner used dental records to identify Farris' body.

The State Fire Marshal's office was called to investigate what started the blaze.

Police said that at this time they have no indicators that this was an explosion caused by a meth lab or the chemicals used to make a meth lab.
