PALATKA, Fla. -

Firefighters battled a blaze inside a Palatka home Wednesday morning when a previous fire reignited.

Putnam County firefighters said a fire started at home on 433 County Road 207-A around 5 a.m.

Five family members escaped the fire unharmed including two adults and three children, ages seven, five and three.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Initially, seven units assisted with fire including Putnam County Fire Rescue, East Palatka fire, and St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters told us the power in the home had been turned off because they hadn't paid their bill.

They were using an oil lamp for light and it turned over while sitting in the kitchen, igniting a fire.

The home was destroyed in the fire.

Red Cross is assisting the family who lost everything in the fire.
