JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters battled a house fire on Bessent Road North first reported by the Florida Highway Patrol at 4:30 p.m.
Jacksonville Fire-Rescue crews say no one was home at the time and no injuries have been reported. Flames burned the back carport of the home and extended into back of the house, burning part of one room.

Damages are estimated to be around $15,000.
JFRD is calling it a suspicious fire. This is the same scene where a shooting was reported last month.
