Fire heavily damages church school building

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters battled a fire Wednesday morning at a house used for storage at Temple Prep Academy, at the corner of Fairfax Street and 17th Street in Northwest Jacksonville.

There were no injuries, or rescues, but the single-story house sustained heavy damage.

Jacksonville Fire-Rescue said that students were moved to another area for a short time until the fire was contained, but they were back in their classroom by 11 a.m.

Firefighters were investigating what started the fire, but it did not appear to be suspicious.
