JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fire apparently spread from a fireplace at a Murray Hill home Wednesday morning, causing minimal damage, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department
Firefighters were called to the home on Rayford Street, near Interstate 10, just before 6 a.m. and saw heavy smoke coming from the chimney.
No one was home at the time. Neighbors said a family lives there but was away.
Firefighters said the family may not have fully put out the fire before leaving home.
There was minimal damage to the home in and around the chimney area.
