Flagler County supervisor of elections resigns

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County Supervisor of Elections Kimberle Wise has resigned halfway through her second term.

According to Flaglerlive.com, Weeks announced her resignation, effective Tuesday, in a letter, citing family and health concerns along with budgetary and political grievances. She recommended to Gov. Rick Scott, who will appoint the next supervisor, to appoint assistant supervisor of elections Kaiti Lenhart.

Weeks' six-year tenure has been fraught with conflict, according to Flaglerlive.com, including budgetary disputes with the Flagler County Commission, disagreements over the consolidation of precincts, the issuance of bonuses to staff and conflicts with Palm Coast and the county over election matters.
