Flagler County finds stolen gun, arrests 2

BUNNELL, Fla. – A Flagler County Sheriff's Office search of a Palm Coast home Tuesday found a stolen handgun and led to the arrest of two men.

Deputies with the Special Investigations Unit serving a search warrant at a Zoeller Court just after 11 a.m. Tuesday said they found a loaded 38 special revolver under a couch in the living room. The gun was reported stolen on October 3 from a home in the "F" section of Palm Coast.

Investigators arrested, Michael Shawn McRoberts Jr., 17, on a charged of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, dealing in stolen property and violation of probation. Also arrested was Kenneth James Kirsch Jr., 20, who was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and dealing in stolen property.

"Our investigators should be commended for their quick action in being able to locate this firearm and take it off the street and out of the hands of these two individuals, both of whom have prior felony convictions," Sheriff James L. Manfre said.

McRoberts was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Facility in Daytona Beach. Kirsch was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility and is being held on $15,000 bond.
