JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A flash flood warning prompted several road closures in Orange Park and caused a scary moment for military members at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.

According to Miriam Gallet, the public affairs officer at NAS Jax, a Delta 737 charter flight carrying 167 passengers from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to Jacksonville, skidded off the runway and into mud upon landing around 5 p.m. Saturday.

Gallet said no one on board the plane was injured and officials were checking to see if the aircraft was able to head to its next destination or if another plane would be needed.

Gallet did not know where the flight was headed after it left Jacksonville.

Neighbors living along Gano Avenue in Orange Park also had to deal with effects from the late afternoon storms.  Gano was shut down near Orange Park Junior High School because of flooding.

Passengers of one vehicle were forced to push their vehicle to safety after it got stuck in high water.

John Ward, deputy director for the Clay County Emergency Operations Center, said they closed streets in that area and would continue to monitor the situation throughout the night.
