Flight Makes Emergency Landing At JIA

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Delta flight to Atlanta with 135 people on board made an emergency landing in Jacksonville Wednesday night with engine problems, according to the Jacksonville Airport Authority.

Flight 1789 had just taken off from JIA when the pilot reported a problem with an engine, circled back and landed about 10:30 p.m. Witnesses reported that vehicles surrounded the plane, but there was no emergency evacuation.

A passenger told Channel 4 that the engine was sparking, but JAA could not confirm that.

There were no injuries and the passengers were put on another flight.
