Florida picks Megabus name

Floridians can pick from "The Sunshine State", "Alligator Alley" and "Juan Ponce de Léon"

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida residents now have the chance to name the Megabus that travels in Florida.   The company does have a bus that runs in Jacksonville. 

Sun Sentinel reports, Megabus launched the campaign, "Name the Bus."  Any other state the company operates in will also take part in the company's campaign.

Megabus is giving Florida residents three name options to choose from that it says represents the state's history.  It's having people vote between the names "The Sunshine State", "Alligator Alley" and "Juan Ponce de Léon."

The winning name will be chosen August 17. 

Megabus also has buses running in Orlando, Gainesville, Miami, Tallahassee, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale.
