TAMPA, Fla. - An 8-year-old Tampa girl had to come to her mother's aid when paramedics couldn't arrive in time for the delivery of her brother.
According to Tampa Fire Rescue, the mother went into labor on Monday. She called 911 and paramedics were alerted.
Paramedics weren't going to make it in time so the dispatcher helped talk the 8-year-old through helping her mother through delivery.
Authorities say the child stayed calm through the eight minute call. The girl relayed instructions to her mother and got towels.
Paramedics arrived after the baby was born and took them to the hospital. Authorities say mother and baby are doing just fine.
