LAKELAND, Fla. - Polk County deputies arrested 92 suspects during a four-day undercover investigation targeting online prostitution ads.
The Lakeland Ledger reported Monday that the arrests were made by detectives who posted ads online posing as prostitutes. They also lured prostitutes who had posted their own ads to an undercover location.
Among the arrested: a 15-year-old girl who said she was a runaway, a 24-year-old woman who said her mother "sold" her into prostitution when she was a teen and an out of state man who was in Florida on his honeymoon.
Also arrested: a woman and her alleged pimp who left a small dog in their car, a California youth minister and a woman who came to the undercover sting location with sex toys.
