ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities were called Friday to search for the driver of an SUV that was found crashed into the water on the west side of Interstate 75 in Payne's Prairie, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The Highway Patrol and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office responded just before 3 p.m. and found a 2014 GMC Yukon in the water just off the southbound lanes of I-75.

As of 10 p.m., troopers said an ongoing investigation and recovery effort was underway to find the driver and determine the cause of the incident.
