ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Investigators with the Gainesville Police Department are asking the public if they've had illegal contact with a former teacher charged with first degree child sexual abuse.
Alan Wade Coleman, 45, of Gainesville, was arrested Tuesday by GPD, U.S. Marshals and the District of Columbia Police.

This case stems from events that occurred approximately 10 years ago while Coleman was a teacher in Washington, DC, according to GPD.
Most recently, Coleman was a teacher at Eastside High School in Gainesville and was also the tennis coach.
Coleman has since been released from jail.
Police want to know if there are any other possible victims out there. If anyone has information that could help investigators, call GPD at 352-955-1818.
