GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A person was shot early Friday at a Gainesville home after a fight that beganThursday night in the downtown area, the Gainesville Police Department said.
Officers said they were called just before 4 a.m. to a residence on NW 8th Avenue.

The person shot was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition at last check, police said.
According to the Police Department, the shooter, who has not yet been identified, is in custody and is being questioned.
Detectives continue to investigate.
