According to FHP, Anderson was driving a Hyundai Sonata east on Southeast County Road 234 just before 6 a.m. when he attempted to turn north onto U.S. Highway 441.

He failed to yield the right of way, troopers said, and the Sonata struck the left side of a Nissan Sentra traveling south on Highway 441.

Anderson was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital, where he died shortly after arriving, troopers said.

The intersection was blocked off for several hours while troopers investigated, but reopened about 9:30 a.m.
