Surveillance shows two women stealing a wallet from a shopping cart

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives are looking for two women suspected of stealing more than $1,000 from a Walmart customer's wallet in a shopping cart.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said the theft happened at a Walmart store on Branan Field Road in Middleburg.

Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying two black women seen in Walmart surveillance footage.

According to a police report, the victim left his wallet in the store by accident on Sept. 2. When he returned to the store to look for it the next day, an employee reviewed security footage and saw one of the suspects approaching a shopping cart and grabbing a wallet.

The victim told police that he had four credit cards, two identification cards and about $1,170 in cash inside the stolen wallet.

Authorities said the women left in a grey vehicle.
