Detectives said Prevatt went to the home of his estranged wife's boyfriend and beat him in the head with a bat. His wife, who had an injunction against him and filed for divorce in January, called 911.

Detectives said on the 911 call, the wife can be heard screaming, “Help me, there is blood everywhere. Please stop! Todd stop!”

Detectives said Prevatt's wife had been doing laundry in the detached garage of her boyfriend's College Drive home when she went inside and found Prevatt beating her boyfriend with a bat. The arrest warrant said the wife tried to intervene and Prevatt bit her on her arms.

She was able to the bat away from him, but the fight between the men continued and Prevatt was choking her boyfriend on the kitchen floor, the warrant said. The wife grabbed a cooking pot and hit Prevatt with it.

Detectives said Prevatt went to the garage, poured gasoline on it and lit it on fire.

After Prevatt left the house, the boyfriend grabbed his shot gun and followed Prevatt to the garage. He confronted him as he was pouring the gasoline and shot him in the leg as he lit the fire, detectives said.

Despite the injury, Prevatt lit a second fire around the back corner of the garge, detectives said.

The wife put the fire out with a garden hose and both men were taken to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries, detectives said.
