ORANGE PARK, Fla. – One woman died and another woman suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday afternoon in what Clay County deputies described as a domestic-related homicide.
Deputies responded to a home on Heron Nest Point in Argyle Forest at 1:45 p.m., finding one person dead, a woman injured and a child with minor injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office said they are looking for a suspect, Kenneth Leonard Poythress, Jr., 36, who was seen wearing jeans, a dark colored shirt, an orange construction-type vest and a camouflage cap. Poythress was last seen in a red or maroon four-door Honda Accord with Florida license plate number 037LSE
Bryan Patel, who lives next door to the home where the incident happened, said he was shocked and would never have expected to come home to a crime scene.
"I didn't know anything like this had even happened until I pulled up and I saw this going on," Patel said.
Neighbors said deputies were going door to door looking for information.
Anyone with information about Poythress' whereabouts is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
