JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The twin brother of a 20-year-old awaiting trial for the attempted murder of a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detective and his son last year was arrested Friday night in Clay County.

Michael Rojas chased three people leaving his home in Orange Park and fired two shots at a car, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office. The shots missed -- one hitting a parked car nearby.

Deputies said they didn’t find the gun, but found bullets in Rojas' pocket.  He is charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and criminal mischief and was booked into the Clay County Jail and ordered held on $130,000 bond.

Rojas is the twin brother of Kevin Rojas, who is accused of firing shots at an off-duty JSO detective who was taking his son to school on the morning of March 9, 2016, on Collins Road near Roosevelt Boulevard.

The detective, who was never named because he works undercover, had just pulled Kevin Rojas over for driving erratically. He was stopped after a short pursuit but shot by an officer when he tried to flee.

Kevin Rojas was charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police officer, two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, shooting into an occupied vehicle and other charges. His trial is currently set for October.
