She was the only one in the car and managed to get out before it went into a retention pond near Russell Road and Henley Road in Green Cove Springs.

A witness who saw the crash happened went in to help, but authorities report the woman helped herself get out the car. The driver was uninjured and didn’t have to go to the hospital.

Because of the cold temperatures, crews had to wait until Wednesday morning to remove the car from the pond.
