Car in no-passing lane overturns into retention pond

LAKE CITY, Fla. – A man is facing charges after trying to pass in a no passing lane and overturning into a retention pond, the Florida Highway Patrol said. 

Dustin Bailey, 23 was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on NW Bascom Norris Drive when he moved into the southbound lane to pass another car in a no-passing zone, officials said.

Bailey over steered and lost control causing the Blazer to overturn before coming to a final rest in a retention pond, officials said.

Bailey is charged with driving left of a no passing zone, failure to drive in proper lane, no driver's license and failure to wear a seatbelt, officials said.
