Driver critically injured in wrong-way crash on I-10

FHP: Vehicle was going west on eastbound I-10 in Columbia County

LAKE CITY, Fla. – A driver was hospitalized after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 10 early Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said 38-year-old Leslie Brenning of Jacksonville was going west in the eastbound inside lane of I-10 in Columbia County about 2 a.m.

The crash report says Talia Lampley of Tallahassee was eastbound on I-10 and the cars collided head-on.

Brenning was taken to UF Health in Gainesville in critical condition. Two passengers in Lampley's Chevrolet Impala were taken to UF Health Lake Shore with minor injuries.  Neither Lampley nor a third passenger in the car were injured.

Troopers said Brenning's Honda Civic was reported to be traveling the wrong way on I-10 minutes prior to the crash. Troopers were trying to locate that vehicle before the crash happened.
