The driver was identified as 49-year-old Barbara Herbert.

According to a FHP report, Herbert was traveling southbound on Cassat Avenue, just north of Park Street when she left the roadway and collided with a power pole.

Herbert was transported to UF Health Jacksonville, where she died as a result of injuries sustained from the crash, according to the report.

FHP said Herbert was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and is investigating if alcohol was a factor.

All northbound and southbound lanes of Cassat Avenue and Part Street were closed while troopers investigated the crash.

The northbound lanes and one southbound lane were reopened around 5:15 a.m., but one southbound lane remained closed while JEA crews worked to replace the power pole.

JEA crews expected to finish repairs around 8 a.m. Only one customer was without power due to the power pole damage.

FHP has not released any other details on the crash.
