Former Jaguars say expect more moves

Team's roster could undergo big changes

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Now that new Jaguars' General Manager Dave Caldwell has fired head coach Mike Mularkey, former players predict even more shakeups in the players and staff.

Caldwell will interview prospective coaches from cities like San Francisco, Atlanta and Chicago. Former linebacker Lonnie Marts thinks Mularkey's departure suggests larger changes coming for the team.

"There are people who will probably be talking to agents to get them to another team because they probably won't be here much longer," said Marts.

Former offensive lineman, Tony Boselli, was not surprised by the announcement. He believes major changes in staff are expected from a new General Manager.

"Anytime a new General Manager comes in, they want to put their team together and their staff and the guys they feel like are best to go as individuals," Boselli commented.

Tom McManus, former middle linebacker, agrees.

"When you have a new general manager they want their own coach. They don't want to be told who they have to hire. They're going to hang their hat on the guy they brought in. It's like the quarterback, they don't want that on their draft record if it doesn't work out," said McManus.
