Police: Man hit in the leg

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One man was shot in the leg early Sunday morning, when a gunman opened fire inside a San Marco function hall.

Police responded to the shooting at the Knights of Columbus on Hendricks Avenue at 12:30 a.m.

Police said a witness claimed the shooting stemmed from an argument over a song, and that prompted the gunman to fire up to eight shots into the crowd.

35-year-old Abdul Edmonds was hit and taken to Shands Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said more than 100 people from several motorcycle clubs were at the Knights of Columbus at the time of the shooting.

Police said they're looking to speak with 43-year-old Leon Kirkland. Kirkland has not been named a suspect.
