JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to find out what caused a crash that killed a 31-year-old motorcyclist Wednesday morning.
Just before 6 a.m., FHP received a call about a crash on Interstate 95 northbound near Park Street, just north of the Fuller Warren Bridge.

Sgt. Dylan Bryan said the motorcycle was going north on I-95 at a high speed when the rider lost control.
"The motorcyclist failed to negotiate the curve, hit the concrete barrier on the left and was ejected and thrown into a support beam," Bryan said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to FHP.
"The motorcycle remained upright [after the crash] and kept going for 1,200 feet down the interstate," Bryan said.
The rider, whose identity was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin, was wearing a helmet and safety gear. Troopers said the rider was from Port Charlotte.
One left lane on I-95 northbound near Park Street was closed for hours during the investigation.
