Hemming Plaza has been transformed for the massive five-day event, expected to attract more than 150,000 people.

"I think it's a good idea for people to come together, because it will bring other communities together," said Brian Marshall.

Brian Marshall recently moved to Jacksonville from Philadelphia and had never heard of anything like One Spark, but said it sounded awesome.

The event kicks off Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. and will take over Hemming Plaza for five days.

Executive Director Joe Sampson said the best part of One Spark is the opportunities given to the dozens of creators participating.

"When you give them the real-time market feedback validation and connect them by your votes and contributions the funding they need to move their ideas forward, you,re essentially creating the world you want to see," said Sampson.

Creators, volunteers and spectators, One Spark brings together the community in a way unlike any other festival. It's an all-in-one event, providing opportunities to interact with people, share innovative ideas and, of course, have some fun.

"This is amazing. This is what downtown needs. All the surveys that they've run on what to do to bring people downtown, all the politicians could not do with these kids could," said Tim Bullard, a creator at One Spark.
