Sex crimes suspect turns self in

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man wanted for sexual battery has turned himself into police, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

On Friday, police issued a warning to all women who live downtown that a man had been sexually assaulting victims.

Four recent cases all fit the same pattern, the most recent was Friday morning.

Friday night, Jerry Gallion turned himself in after learning he was wanted in connection with the cases.

Summer Holmes, who lives downtown, said she was shocked to learn that someone could be preying on woman in her area.

"Wow, that's my first time hearing about that. It's horrible," said Holmes. "I mean, women have to be more careful and walk with somebody that can protect them."

Gallion is being held at the Duval County Jail. He made his first appearance before a judge Saturday and was denied bond.
