JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A "weather-related" water-main break prompted a precautionary boil water advisory for certain JEA customers living south of 103rd Street on Jacksonville's Westside, according to a press release.
This precautionary advisory was issued Saturday morning as a result the break and subsequent repairs.
The boil water advisory affects only those customers within these boundaries:
- 103rd Street on the north
- Parman Road on the south
- Smithtorian Drive to the east
- Connie Jean Road on the west
The JEA said customers should bring water to a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute prior to using for drinking, food preparation or cooking.
JEA recommends customers flush water lines for three minutes after water returns in order to remove any air and possible sediments from the lines.
The advisory will remain in place until the problem has been corrected and two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological results have been obtained, according to the press release. Affected customers will be notified when the precautionary advisory is lifted.
