FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. - Three Ohio residents were arrested early Friday morning in Flagler County on a variety of charges in connection with the burglary of a commercial establishment in Bunnell.
Murphy Chandler Shaw III and Michael Andrew Pettit were being held in the Flagler County Inmate Facility on charges of armed burglary, possession of burglary tools, grand theft, theft from a coin operated vending machine and resisting arrest without violence.
Haley Harger is also being held at the facility on a charge of principal to burglary in the first degree.
Flagler deputies received a call at 3:52 a.m. from the shop foreman of Truss Systems located at 3615 South Highway U.S. 1 reporting that he had seen someone inside the businesses office.
Deputies said they arrived at the business and quickly established a perimeter around the outside of the building as they awaited the arrival of a K9. While outside of the building, deputies were advised that a motion alarm from inside the building had been received.
Deputies and the K9 entered the building but were unable to locate anyone.
Deputies said they then began a check of the outside of the building and located a ladder propped up near a window. Deputies then conducted a check of the property outside of the building and found one suspect hiding in brush near the fence line of the Florida East Coast Railway train tracks.
The man was taken into custody after sustaining a minor bite from the K9, deputies said. They said he was later treated and released.
A second man was also taken into custody after deputies discovered him also hiding in the brush. Deputies later arrested a woman when she returned to the area to pick up the two men.
Shaw and Pettit were each being held on $22,550 bond. Harger was being held on $15,000 bond.
"The actions of the shop foreman and the quick response by our deputies was crucial in the arrest of these subjects," said Flagler County Sheriff James Manfre.
