Palatka man charged after crash

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A Palatka man is charged with several crimes after he left the scene of an accident Saturday morning in Bunnell, Flagler County deputies said.

Authorities said Darryl Duffy, 21, was driving between 68 and 95 mph on West State Road 100 (where the speed limit is 60 mph) just before 10 a.m. When a deputy tried pulling Duffy over, he rear-ended another car, deputies said.

Duffy and his passenger fled the scene. However, the passenger was taken into custody 20 minutes later. Fireflight and K-9 were called in to find Duffy, who was found on North Anderson and East Woodlawn Drive as he walked out of the woods.

The passenger is not facing charges, but Duffy is charged with reckless driving, fleeing police, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a Florida license. He was released on $2,500 bond.

There were no injuries reported.
