Scott, who was re-elected in 2014, cannot seek another term as governor due to term limits.

The governor, who is attending the Republican Governors Association annual conference, also said he was excited that Republican Donald Trump was elected president. Scott said that other Republicans who offered up little or lukewarm support for Trump should now "embrace him."

He predicted that Trump would be a good partner with the state and would work on helping Florida get money for the Everglades and repairs to the Lake Okeechobee dike.
