STUART, Fla - A South Florida county is looking to hire more alligator trappers.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is accepting applications for contracted trappers in Marion County.
The job is with the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program.
Trappers will be responsible for removing alligators from locations where they are unwanted. The commission said that an alligator may be considered a nuisance if it is at least four feet long and poses a possible threat to people, property, or pets.
A commission statement said that anyone interested in the position must have a clean criminal history, no fish or wildlife law violations, have a working email address, and live in Martin county.
The application deadline is April 1st.
