NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A Nassau County man died early Friday morning in a wrong-way crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Brett Goodwin, 22, of Hilliard was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 about 12:45 a.m. when his Chevrolet Silverado traveled off the roadway onto the grass shoulder, according to the FHP report.

Goodwin's truck continued to travel southbound on the shoulder and struck a tree.
Goodwin was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.
His relatives have been notified and FHP is looking into whether alcohol played a factor in this crash.
